Scholars

One of the defining characteristics of the Institute is its intellectual community of scholars and graduate students from across the humanities and social sciences. Whether during the Friday Seminars, at Wednesday Tea, in a working research group, or spontaneously in the hallway, our faculty and fellows exchange ideas on an ongoing basis about the cultural changes underway in our world today. With an outstanding Advisory Board, the Institute’s local community is nationally and internationally connected to the leading intellectuals of our time.

Leadership / Institute Council

The Institute’s research agenda is driven by the Institute Council, which includes The Council Trust, the Chairs of the Colloquies, and the Research Directors of the Labs.

Advisory Board

The Board, composed of leading scholars, helps the Institute Council refine the Institute’s mission, identify priorities, and expand its academic and public presence.

The Council Trust

Council Members act as a “brain trust,” consulting with the Institute’s Colloquies and Research Labs to help shape the Institute’s research-in-progress.

Institute Fellows

Each year the Institute adds a new cohort of Fellows, and young alumni Fellows are placed at institutions all over the world.
